A professional cleaner has shared her simple recipe for a multipurpose spray you can use everywhere in your home, including floors, sinks, showers and stove tops.

Liesl Elizabeth, from Western Australia, has developed a five-ingredient DIY cleaning solution that can transform just about anything, leaving behind a sparkling finish.

To make the cleaning solution, all you’ll need is water, vinegar, dishwasher liquid, clove oil and your favourite essential oil.

‘Use this for everything. Try this, you’ll never go back to commercial cleaners again,’ she said in her now viral TikTok video.

Liesl, who goes by the name Clean Freak Cleaning Co, suggested mixing one cup of water with one cup of vinegar, one tablespoon of dishwasher liquid and three drops of clove oil.

‘Vinegar contains acetic acid which makes a powerful disinfectant and kills bacteria,’ she explained in the video, adding: ‘I haven’t touched bleach in years’.

While the clove oil kills mould spores, which is ideal for bathrooms.’

For a refreshing scent, she added 10 drops of her favourite essential oil. 

‘I used one with orange to pair nicely with the clove and lavender because I like the smell,’ she said.

Stir everything together and pour into an empty spray bottle.

Her video has since been viewed more than 480,000 times with many saying they couldn’t wait to make their own cleaning spray at home.

Dozens of people who created their own DIY sprays at home insisted it’s better than store-bought cleaning products. 

‘I use this now and I love it. It’s been almost a year and I’ll never go back,’ one woman wrote, while another said: ‘We do this at home and I haven’t bought a cleaner in years. Smells amazing and actually works.’  

For those who own pets, many pointed out you can ditch the essential oils as it could harm cats and dogs, while others suggested swapping dishwashing liquid for baking soda to create a non-toxic cleaning spray.
