California parents hide $20 bills inside formula containers and diaper boxes at local Target stores

A California couple knows all too well what it’s like to struggle with money with a new baby at home — so now that they’re financially secure, they’re helping others who may be having a tough time paying the bills.

Krystal and Patrick Duhaney recently visited several Target stores in Southern California, where they hid $1,000 worth of cash inside baby products like diapers and formula.

The pair filmed themselves stuffing $20 bills into products around the stores, which they hope will make things a bit easier for the moms and dads who find them.

Krystal and Patrick now have two kids of their own and are doing well financially, thanks in part to Krystal’s company, Milky Mama, which offers breastfeeding support to mew parents.

But when they were just starting out, they had a hard time.

‘Being a parent can be tough!’ Krystal, a registered nurse, wrote when she posted her viral video in April.

‘When we had our first baby, we struggled to make ends meet. Now that I own a successful business, I wanted to give back, because I know how hard it can be.

‘So, Hubby and I went to various @target stores in Southern California and hid money in baby items,’ she continued.

All in all, they spent $1,000 on the reverse-shopping spree, leaving money under the lids of formula and stuffing bills into diaper boxes.

‘We really wanted to make things a little easier,’ Krystal told KABC. ‘Hopefully brighten their day and hopefully inspire others to kind of, you know, spread joy and kindness.’

She also stressed that they didn’t tamper with any products to get the money inside.

‘Diaper containers are sealed. The diapers are wrapped inside the box as well as formula. It’s not like we’re putting it in the powder. There’s a cover,’ she explained.

The video has certainly touched others on social media, with commenters calling it ‘awesome’ and ‘amazing.’

‘This just warmed my heart,’ wrote one.

‘This is beautiful! Thank you for bringing smiles to the families that will receive these gifts,’ said another.
