Karl Stefanovic fumes at Today show boss amid claims he stole a pie on-set

He’s the popular host of the Today show who often makes viewers laugh with his hilarious antics on-set.

And Karl Stefanovic did just that on Tuesday, as the cheeky prankster was seen whinging to his boss after being accused of stealing a pie during a baking segment.

In a joke video shared on Instagram, Karl appeared fuming as he spoke to one of the network’s big bosses about the accusations – before defending himself by claiming he’s on a strict weight loss plan.

‘You’re the boss of this Today show – I’m sick of being accused of things I don’t do,’ Karl said.

‘I’m deadly serious. I did not take that frickin’ pie. You know I’m on a weight loss program. It is disgusting, that I would be accused of something like that.’

As the camera flashed to a guilty-looking news and sports presenter Alex Cullen, Karl continued: ‘You know how hard I’ve fought to get every kilo off.

‘I’m not going to take a pie. And someone’s done me in.’

In another funny twist, Karl quickly asked the boss: ‘ …can I have some of your sausage roll?’

The camera again flashed to Alex, who began to wipe crumbs away from his mouth – after clearly enjoying the stolen pie himself.

In an earlier video, host Allison was seen singing a nursery rhyme to Karl via FaceTime – where she had accused him of stealing not only a pie, but a piece of tart baked by chef Jane de Graaff.

‘The queen of hearts, she made some tarts all on a summer’s day,’ Allison began to sing.

‘The knave of hearts, he stole a tart – and then he ran away. With his meat pie too!’
