A mum has asked for help from strangers after spotting an awkward mistake on her Betty Crocker cookie mix box.

She went to make the rainbow cookies on Monday night only to find the instructions were incomplete due to an apparent printing malfunction and ingredients under the ‘just add’ section on the packet weren’t there.

‘Does anyone have this in their pantry?’ she asked.

A mum has taken to Facebook for advice after spotting a very awkward mistake on her Betty Crocker cookie mix box

‘Mine seems to be missing vital information, can anyone tell me the ingredients?’ she added.

In fact, on the back of the packet, the only ingredient listed was ‘softened butt’ – the only clue she had.

But other mums with the same cookies in the pantry were able to come to the rescue.

‘Yes we made these yesterday,’ one mum said.

The missing ingredients included 80grams of softened butter and an extra large egg.

Another woman revealed she bought a packet ‘from the same batch’ only noticing when she went to her pantry to help the original poster.

And they weren’t alone.

‘I literally bought them today and am waiting to hear back from Betty Crocker,’ another woman revealed.

Others took the opportunity to have a laugh.

‘Betty is getting a bit senile in her old age,’ one woman wrote.

‘Well you obviously need softened butt to start with,’ giggled another.

‘All you need is your imagination,’ added a third.

Daily Mail Australia has approached Betty Crocker Australia for comment.
