A man has been arrested after a woman reported being raped in a children’s playground in Bradford.

The incident is alleged to have happened at a play park just south of the city centre in the early hours of Monday.

The victim, a 21-year-old woman, is now being supported by specially trained officers.

West Yorkshire Police said they had received a report of a 21-year-old woman being raped in a children’s playground near to Bradford city centre

West Yorkshire Police have confirmed that a 20-year-old man has since been arrested in relation to the incident.

Officers were at the scene, close to Bradford College’s Trinity Green Campus, with a cordon in place on Tuesday.

West Yorkshire Police said: ‘Police are investigating a report of a rape which is alleged to have occurred in a park close to Claremont, Bradford, in the early hours of Monday morning.

‘A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this report and a scene remains in place on land between Sawrey Place and Claremont.

‘There is no indication at this time that a corrosive substance was used in the incident.

‘The victim, a 21-year-old woman, is being supported by specially trained officers.

‘All reports of sexual offences are taken seriously and thoroughly investigated and increased patrols are operating in the area.
