Woolworths has slashed the price of designer espresso machines in stores across Australia.

Philips ‘L’Or Barista Latte Premium’ coffee makers, which allow you to brew two cups at once, are currently marked down from $249 to just $50 – a massive saving of $199.

A shopper took to Facebook to share the news after she spotted a stack of machines on sale in a store in Cowes on Phillip Island, VIC.

She said staff confirmed the offer should be available in Woolworths outlets nationwide.

‘Was $250 down to $50, just grabbed one in Woolies Cowes!’ she wrote.

‘Edit to add, I did ask staff if it was all Woolies and they said it should be.’

Her photo quickly drew delighted responses, with many saying they have never seen such a good deal on an upscale coffee machine.

‘Just purchased 2, no signs were on the tower of them they had. And the staff didn’t even know they were on clearance, but they came up as $50,’ one woman wrote.

A second said: ‘This is such a good machine for that price.’

A third said she saw five discounted machines left in stock at Tweedheads Woolworths on the New South Wales-Queensland border on Wednesday afternoon.

Others said they had bought machines in Perth, WA, and in shops across Sydney.

The machine, which has a 4.7 star rating online, is said to be one of the best double shot espresso makers on the market with ‘one minor flaw’.

Users have complained that the machine is not up to standard when it comes to making other types of coffee such as lattes or cappuccinos.

One customer said it only creates frothy milk about ‘one in 10 times you use it’.
