Emma Bunton’s Spice Girls bandmates ‘didn’t know’ she was getting married to Jade Jones

Emma Bunton’s Spice Girls bandmates didn’t know she was marrying Jade Jones. 

The singer, 45, shocked fans when she announced she’d tied the knot in secret at Soho Farmhouse in an Instagram post on Tuesday. 

And it seems the ceremony was so low-key that her fellow singers didn’t manage to get an invite.   

A source close to the couple told The Sun: ‘Emma and Jade wanted to celebrate with only a handful of people. They kept the whole ceremony secret from everyone but wanted their kids there. Beau was his dad’s Best Man — it was so sweet.

‘If they’d had a bigger ceremony, the girls would have been invited but they wanted it to be really intimate.’ 

The only guests in attendance were said to be Emma and Jade’s mothers, their two children — Beau, 13, and Tate, ten — and two close friends as witnesses.  

MailOnline has contacted Emma’s representatives for comment.  

Emma and Jade have been together for more than 20 years and the blonde beauty announced their engagement in 2011.  

After Emma shared wedding snaps on Instagram on Tuesday, her bandmates shared their excitement in the comments.

Mel B simply penned ‘yippeeee’ and Mel C wrote ‘soooooo much love’, while Victoria commented: ‘Congratulations. Love u both so much!! x.’ and Geri said: ‘So happy for you and your lovely family.’ 

Emma previously discussed her wedding plans during her 23-year relationship with Jade, saying they’ve always wanted to tie the knot privately.

During an interview with Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2 in 2018, Emma explained that they would ‘love’ to wed but they’re terrible at organising and want it to be private.

Asked if she was getting married, Emma said: ‘Well, no, I’m not… no we’re not, we would love to actually and we have talked about it.

‘We try to, but we want it to be private, every time we try it’s out there. We want to do it privately on our own.’
