A bungling burglar caught on CCTV in a Bunnings store in Perth has drawn hilarious comparisons to Tom Cruise in hit film Mission Impossible.

The footage, from Western Australia police, shows the man carrying out a series of near impossible stunts before making off with just $200 worth of goods.

The video, with the title ‘Parkour!’,  shows the man dressed head-to-toe in black dropping into the store from the roof of the warehouse.

The Tom Cruise wanna-be is seen on CCTV footage running out of the Bunnings store with only $200 worth of power tools

The man is seen stumbling after the fall and landing on his backside before he jumps to his feet and runs up and down the aisles in the store to find the goods.

He proceeded to rig up a garden hose he then used to hoist himself up to the top of some shelving.

The bandit is then seen using the hose to lever-down his stash on the makeshift apparatus before both he and the goods spectacularly smash to the ground.

In an effort to avoid capture the Tom Cruise wanna-be climbed back to the top of some shelving escaping through an emergency rear exit – taking with him some power tools.

Social media was a buzz with many left impressed and bemused by his over-the-top efforts to steal the low cost items.

‘I was just watching this and thinking he makes it look so much harder than it is,’ said one.

‘Like an organised jewel thief for a couple of power tools LOL,’ joked another.

‘When you need something from Bunnings and they aren’t open.’

‘The new Mission Impossible movie looks good’.

The Bunnings bandit remains on the loose, prompting police to request circulation of the  video in a bid to nab the agile culprit before he strikes again.
