Woman who spent £600 a year on LVL which left eyelashes ‘dry and weak’ hails ‘amazing’ £59 serum

A woman whose ‘addiction’ to LVL treatments left her eyelashes feeling ‘dry and weak’ has hailed a ‘life-changing’ £59 serum for making them look better than ever.

Holly Barnes, 22, from Derby would book into the salon every six weeks for a £70 session of LVL – which stands for length, volume and lift, and works by perming and tinting the lashes.

When they became brittle, the customer services worker looked around for an alternative and came across Revitalash, a lash conditioner which sells one every 30 seconds in the UK and is a beauty bag favourite among celebrities including Meghan Markle, Tess Daly and Kim Kardashian.

Holly claims she noticed a difference after just three weeks – and admitted she’ll never go back to the salon for a lash treatment again.

She told FEMAIL: ‘I was obsessed with having LVL treatments on my lashes. I would book in every six weeks or so to get that wide awake eye look without the need for any make-up or mascara.

‘It was costing me £70 every six weeks, I was addicted – me and my mum worked out in a year I had spent £600, I was a little mortified!

‘My lashes started to get really dry and weak, and every treatment the effects became less and less striking.’

Realising she was due a break, Holly googled a fix to give her lashes some TLC.

As well as enhancing the look of lashes, RevitaLash Advanced also boosts their natural curl thanks to its BioPeptin Complex.

‘I read about Revitalash and the fact Meghan Markle had raved about it and so many other celebs!’ she said. ‘For £89 it seemed expensive but I didn’t read a single bad review about it, so I took the plunge.

‘After only three weeks of applying it every evening with my night cream, I noticed a difference straight away. My lashes could hold a coat of mascara without looking spidery and neglected like they had started to.’

Holly continued applying the serum and said her lashes were transformed within three months.

She claims her new ‘no salon’ look has given her a confidence boost – and she’s now putting the money she’s saving towards buying a house.

‘Within three months I had lashes looking back at me that I just couldn’t believe were mine and all natural, I was amazed,’ she said.

‘Everyone was asking me what I was using, all of my customers and colleagues were complimenting my new lashes! It was the best money I’d ever spent!

‘A big tube lasts me about 12 months and I’ve been able to put all the money I had been spending in the salon money towards saving for my first house!

‘I am so happy and grateful to have a natural alternative that still gives me wow results, I’ll never go back to the salon ever again for any lash treatment.’

Holly added that she was ‘so impressed’ that she bought the Revitalash brow serum which she insists was ‘just as amazing’.

How does Revitalash work?

RevitaLash works as both a hair conditioner and growth serum.

It contains a blend of natural botanicals and its Signature BioPeptin Complex designed to addresses the visual signs of eyelash ageing and stress and protect against breakage and brittleness.

The ingredients promote hair growth and are high in antioxidants that help to strengthen and thicken hair.

‘I’d over-plucked my brows previously and couldn’t get my old bushy brows back, and then Revitabrow did just that,’ she said.

‘I recommend these products to everyone. They really have changed my life and my confidence!’

The serum, which currently costs £59 for a four to six week supply, £89 for up to three months or £125 for a six-month vial, has developed a cult following among celebs, including Dani Dyer and Sam Faiers, and even royalty.

Speaking about her love of the product in 2014, the Duchess of Sussex said: ‘[I use] RevitaLash on my eyelashes, and I swear they are as long as they could ever be.’

Natalia Ferrari, brand educator for Revitalash, said: ‘With an LVL professional treatment, perming chemicals tend to dehydrate your lashes over time leaving them dry and brittle. Revitalash Advanced is all about conditioning and strengthening and is non-invasive.’
