Jadon Sancho has revealed a social media video showing him training hard before he joins up with Manchester United for pre-season training.

Sancho’s highly anticipated £73million transfer to United from German side Borussia Dortmund was officially confirmed on Friday July 23.

The 21-year-old is not yet due to link up with his team-mates for the club’s preparations for the new season, which begins in less than three weeks.

Despite still technically being on holiday, Sancho posted on his Instagram page showing him with his nose to the grindstone to make sure he is in top shape when he returns.

His four-part story, shown to his 6.7million followers, shows him pounding a treadmill with the caption: ‘Rise and graft!’ while listening to Drake song One Dance as the camera flips to a friend working out.

The former Manchester City forward then continues to run hard, whooping and mouthing along to the lyrics of Drake track Blem.

Sancho, along with his England team-mates, was given an extended break after his international exploits at this summer’s Euro 2020 tournament, at which Gareth Southgate’s team lost on penalties against Italy in the final.

United’s No 25 had previously been on holiday with new Red Devils team-mate Marcus Rashford in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

‘I feel like I’ve got different attributes to all the other players, but obviously Cristiano Ronaldo and what he’s done in his career is a fantastic thing where he started at Sporting and then he came to Manchester,’ said Sancho after signing last Friday.

‘It’s always good to see that all these iconic players have come through an iconic club.

‘I’ll always be grateful to Dortmund for giving me the opportunity to play first team football, although I always knew that I would return to England one day.

‘The chance to join Manchester United is a dream come true and I just cannot wait to perform in the Premier League.

‘This is a young and exciting squad and I know, together, we can develop into something special to bring the success that the fans deserve. I am looking forward to working with the manager and his coaching team to further develop my game.’

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side host historic rivals Leeds at Old Trafford in their first game of the new domestic campaign on Saturday August 14 in what promises to be a highly charged match.
