Snapchat outage leaves 125,000 users worldwide unable to check or send posts for hours as company pleads: ‘Hang tight!’

More than 125,000 Snapchat users are experiencing issues with the social media platform Thursday evening.

Users have reported instances of the app crashing every time they try to open it. 

Snapchat has acknowledged the issue and is working to find a solution.

‘We’re aware of an issue preventing some Snapchatters from logging in. Hang tight, we are looking into it and working on a fix!’ the company’s support staff tweeted just before 7pm.

As of 9pm, nearly 20,000 users were still having problems opening the app, according to Downdetector.

Snapchatters have since taken to Twitter to express their woes over the outage.

‘I don’t know how to deal with the fact that this has been the longest I have gone without being able to use Snapchat’ user @ursulaaa01 wrote.

‘SNAPCHAT FIX UR APP OR WE GON HAVE SOME PROBLEMS,’ @szasgurl tweeted.

‘Didn’t know people still actively used Snapchat omg,’ wrote @itskeyon.

‘The new Snapchat update is so cool #snapdown,’ user @AbrielS2 mocked, posting a video of the app’s failed attempt to load on her iPhone.
