A couple has announced the birth of their second baby girl in unique photos that have gone viral.

Brody Price and his wife Sarah welcomed daughter Hadley into the world on Tuesday at Kalgoorlie Health Campus, in Western Australia

The day after she was born, a photographer captured the special moment, with Price decked out head to toe in his wicket keeper ensemble, pads and all, to ‘catch’ his baby girl as she entered the world.

‘I love my cricket, always have, I’ve been playing since I was about 13,’ Mr Price told the ABC

‘I had this idea a few months ago and thought it would be funny. I said to Sarah, ‘What do you reckon about this?’ She said, ‘If you organise it, you can do it’.

While admitting she would rather watch grass grow than cricket, Mrs Price described her husband as a sports nut.

‘Yeah, he loves his sport… the second we knew we were pregnant he was planning out what sports they’re going to play,’ she said.

Price’s club, Hannans Cricket Club, posted the photos to their Facebook page where they went viral.

When shared to ABC Perth’s Facebook page, the club commented: ‘About time you caught something Brody. Awesome to see you start pre season early this year.’

Price says his teammates think the photos are hilarious.

Another cricket fanatic called it ‘The catch of his life.’

Even baby Hadley’s name has cricketing connotations. While spelt differently, New Zealand fans will think of the Kiwis’ greatest cricketer Sir Richard Hadlee.

Mrs Price says that Hadley is settling in nicely.

Dad hopes that both she and her older sister Iylah grow up to love the sport as much as he does.

‘I hope both of them [Hadley and Iylah] are into cricket and footy,’ he said.

‘That’s my plan.’
