But if you’re hoping to find it in your Christmas sweetie tin this year you’ll be disappointed – it will only be available at 17 John Lewis stores offering its pick-and-mix stations.

The chain’s Christmas buyer, Lisa Cherry, said: ‘Launching the first ever Quality Street sweet featuring white chocolate is so exciting.

‘We can’t wait to hear what our customers think of this new and exclusive flavour.’ The Creme Caramel Crisp will replace the Toffee Deluxe sweet.

The other 16 will open in cities including Liverpool, Bristol and Newcastle, by the end of the month.

Quality Street brand manager Cat Mews told The Sun: ‘We know how much people missed our pick and mix stations at John Lewis last year, so we are delighted to announce that they are back for 2021.

‘Best of all, you can tailor the contents exactly to your liking, whether that means nothing but purple ones, a tin full of toffees or a feast of fruit cremes.’
