A creative car enthusiast has turned a Holden Barina into a bizarre contraption he claims drives like a LandCruiser – with all the 4WD toys.

Andre Hawily, from Perth, posted his creation on Facebook marketplace with a selling price of $900 – and quickly found a buyer.

His ‘touring weapon’ was kitted out with a bunch of impressive gear – for a hatchback – that wouldn’t look out of place in a Mad Max movie.

The 1993 Barina included a 7-inch touchscreen, a snorkel, roof racks, an awning, light bar, ‘aircon that needs a service’ and the all-important cup holders.

‘Do you want to own a LandCruiser but don’t want to pay the price and want more luxuries? Well this is the car for you,’ the ad began.

Mr Hawily assured potential buyers the contraption was actually a very capable 4WD and even has four new light truck tyres for some extra ground clearance.

Even more surprisingly the seller said the car was serviced routinely came with full service books .

‘Yes it has a few battle scars on the bumpers but looks the part with racing stripes down the sides,’ he continued.

‘It has straight pipe exhaust and is quite loud. Snorkel made from fuel hose and a catch can to protect the engine. Runs great and drives good.

‘Throw me an offer and have the touring weapon of your dreams.’
