Tasty Toobs are BACK: After six years, the famous chips will return to Australian shelves in a matter of days

Iconic chips Tasty Toobs is set to return to shelves in Australia for the first time since disappearing from supermarkets six years ago.
After years of fans petitioning for their favourite childhood snack to be revived, the team at Smith’s has decided to bring back the iconic tubular tomato-flavoured chips everyone missed.
The brand has confirmed the relaunched Tasty Toobs will have the exact same flavour as their predecessors.
The tangy, tomato-flavoured chips Tasty Toobs were one of the most memorable snack icons of the 70s, and brought back into production in 2007 after a six-year gap. But the snacks were then discontinued again by Smith’s in 2015 following the lack of consumer demand
Melbourne couple Bradley Lowdell and Stephanie Payne launched the Facebook group Bring Back TOOBS in 2015, which has grown to a community of more than 24,000 fans.
They have embraced the super fan group and rallied the troops to campaign and petition, which resulted in more than 10,000 signatures to call for fan-fave Tasty Toobs to return to shelves.
‘Seeing your favourite snack disappear is devastating and we knew we had to battle to get them back on shelves. We created the page to create a community of Toobs lovers and campaign to help us in our battle,’ the couple said.
‘We’ve been overwhelmed by the amount of support for the page and getting Toobs back on shelves. It’s an honour to think that we had an impact in bringing Australia’s favourite snack back.’

The snacks will start to roll out to 7-Eleven stores around the country from Tuesday, July 27.
From Monday, August 2, shoppers can expect to find the beloved Tasty Toobs at all supermarkets, independent retailers and petrol and convenience stores nationally.
‘Our team has been working around the clock for quite some time to ensure the return of Toobs,’ Vandita Pandey, CMO PepsiCo ANZ said.
‘It’s been a labour of love and we’re just as excited as our fans that they are finally back. We’re thrilled to finally share the exact on-shelf launch date with Australia so our loyal consumers can once again enjoy them.’
